Foods to Avoid to Get Rid of Acne

For the most part acne is typical of teenagers what seems quite natural. Excess of hormones makes the sebaceous glands overactive, what clogs pores with many bacteria trapped inside, resulting in inflammation and acne.

Typically, acne goes away when people become mature. But sometimes it doesn’t. If you are an adult person and you still have acne, the cause of it lies no longer in hormones but rather in your diet. In this respect, there are foods that should be avoided if you want to get rid of acne.

Chips can cause acneSweets and starchy foods. Candy, sugar, cakes, cookies and potato chips can make your skin look withering and lead to acne. Moreover, they don’t contain much vitamins and minerals what may result in an unhealthy color of your skin and dryness. It can be very difficalt to say no to your favorites, but at least try to somehow replace them with their “healthy analogues” – for example, candy and sweets with honey and dried fruits.

Fat foods. There is probably nothing worse for your skin than fat and fried foods. If you can’t imagine your life without them, try at least to replace animal fat with vegetable one. Vegetable oil is very useful in combination with carrots, spinach, sweet potatoes, dark green and dark orange vegetables, which are rich in vitamin A. Even in a few day after you change your diet in this respect you will notice that your skin becomes rejuvenated, and inflammation gets reduced.

Coffee. Coffee increases the level of the hormone cortisol, which is one of the main acne causes in adulthood. Sweet coffee on an empty stomach in the morning is particularly dangerous, as it can lead to a serious inflammatory process in your face skin. If you are not a hopeless coffee addict try to reduce its dose for the sake of your health and beauty.

Nuts. Tasty crunchy roasted peanuts, almonds, walnuts, and pistachios will definitely cause acne if you overeat yourself with them. On the contrary, small amounts of nuts are very useful for your health.

Dairy products. You can eat any amount of yogurt, milk and cheese, but the quantity of ice cream and cheese should be restricted. The thing is that these products contain steroids and progesterone that increase the activity of the sebaceous glands.
